NON-LUCRATIVE VISA & TIE CARDS RENEWAL SPAIN
Dear clients & readers
We have been receiving a lot of emails lately with regards to the renewal of the VISA & TIE cards process in Spain. For example, please see below an email received just a few days ago:
“Dear Oscar, I hope that you are well. In 3 months’, time we can renew our visa and TIE cards, and so I am writing to ask what documents we will need. Did you find out if it is possible to submit the renewal application electronically? It will be nice to meet you again when convenient for you”.
Due to the fact that it is of the utmost importance to start the renewal process with sufficient anticipation (at least 3 months), we are glad to share with you some of the most basic renewal requirements:
In the first place, please make sure to request your insurance company for updated Health insurance certificates.
In practice, we usually ask the Insurance Company on our client’s behalf, in order to issue the updated Certificates for the TIE renewal application.
Likewise, we would also be able to manage with the Company for the renewal of the Health Insurance policies if needed.
Second, you will need to manage to get your Padron renewed. This can be done electronically, provided that you have an electronic signature. Otherwise, depending on the town hall, we can apply the Padron Certificates (with POA) on the client’s behalf through the town hall’s website. Sometimes, it is compulsorily needed to book a face-to-face appointment at the Census Department (AKA “Oficina de Padron” in Spanish).
Third, very important also, it will be necessary to show proof of financial means. Please make sure that your Spanish bank account will show sufficient balance every month (i.e. we do have clients who have applied recently and they have made monthly deposits of 3.000 EUR)
In essence, the documentation to be accredited would be the Bank Certificate which shows your details as the holder of the account as well as the bank statement for the last quarter of your Spanish bank account. Likewise, the Title deed of your property (or tenancy agreement), must be included as well as financial means.
Is it possible to submit the renewal application electronically?
The answer is affirmative, as it would indeed be possible to apply electronically. The first step would be to submit the applications together with the required paperwork via the electronic website of the Immigration Office. Once we receive a favourable resolution, we will then be able to book the appointment for fingerprinting.
